Safety and consent

myQR is for adults who want to chat — and only see, hear from and share what they've chosen to. Here's how that works.

• Adults only

  Everyone confirms they're 18 or over and gives a date of birth when they join. Reports that someone may be under 18 go to the top of the moderation queue, and the account is closed.

• You choose who can reach you

  Only contacts you've accepted can see whether you're online. Choose Appear offline any time. Blocking someone hides you from each other everywhere on the site, immediately.

• R18 is opt-in

  R18 channels and photo sharing are switched off for every member. They stay hidden until you switch them on, and one click switches them off again.

• Photos need permission

  Photos only work in private messages between contacts who've both opted in to R18 — and only after the person receiving them clicks "Allow photos" for that person. They arrive hidden, can be unsent, have location data removed, and delete themselves after 7 days.

• Report anything

  Every name, message and photo has a Report button. A reported photo is hidden from both people straight away, and the sender can't send more until a moderator has looked at it.

• 48 hours for serious complaints

  Non-consensual images, anyone who may be under 18 and illegal content are dealt with within 48 hours — usually much sooner. Anyone, member or not, can use our complaints page.

• No links or photos in rooms

  Rooms are text-only, which stops spam, scam links and surprise images.

• A small entry fee

  A one-off entry makes mass fake accounts expensive. It doesn't make scams impossible, so we still moderate — and you should still be careful.
