Anyone can use this form — you don't need an account. Use it if something on Chatroom is illegal, involves someone who may be under 18, shares information or images about you without your consent, or if you want content about you removed. Members can also tap Report next to any message or name.

What happens next

• You get a reference number straight away.
• Photos or content shared without consent, anyone who may be under 18, and other illegal content: we act within 48 hours — usually much sooner. Reported photos are hidden from both people in the conversation straight away while we look.
• Everything else: we reply within seven business days.
• Anything illegal or shared without consent is removed as soon as we confirm it, and the account involved is suspended.
• If an intimate image of you has been shared without your consent you can also contact Netsafe (0508 638 723), or the Police — posting one is an offence under the Harmful Digital Communications Act.
• If you disagree with our decision, reply to our email to appeal and we'll review it again.
• Suspected child exploitation is reported to the Department of Internal Affairs and NZ Police.
